20 British pounds
Congars Cafe, 1 Broad St, Congresbury, Bristol BS49 5DG

Service Description

This workshop aims to give you the confidence to sow your own seeds and know how to look after them to produce healthy vegetables. We will sow some here that you can take home. I will focus on a selection of seeds suitable for sowing now eg onion, spinach, lettuce, peas, broad beans, leek, tomatoes, beetroot, fennel, carrots. You are welcome to bring your own packets too. What we will cover: what containers to use what compost direct sowing vs sowing in containers timings problems I will bring some 'that I sowed earlier' for you to experience pricking out/potting on so that you know what to do when yours are at the right stage. All materials such as pots, labels, seeds and compost will be provided but please bring gloves if you would like them, an apron or clothes that won't mind a bit of compost on and a medium sized box or container to bring your pots/trays home in. As this is hosted in the back of a café you will be able to buy refreshments here. You can book and pay for your place on the workshop here or pay cash in person at Congars Cafe, Congresbury, N. Somerset. FUTURE WORKSHOPS There will be another seed sowing session in about a month (April) should you wish to sow some other varieties, talk about your experiences, discuss what to do about planting out and looking after your plants once they are in the ground. Later in the year (June) there will be a workshop for biennials and autumn sown annuals (September). I am also planning to hold workshops where we can propagate perennials (around August). Look out for more workshops on the website and sign up to the newsletter for advance notice of upcoming events.
